Cake Flavour Combinations that will WOW Your Guests!
When I was a little girl, I didn’t dream of my wedding dress or flower arrangements, I dreamed of eating the cake! I never wanted the basic chocolate or vanilla cake, I wanted three layers of unique flavours. Choosing a wedding cake flavour can be difficult though. Lucky for you, I have done the tasting and created a comprehensive list of the best cake combinations to have at your party! 🎂
- Chocolate and Caramel 🍫
Most people wouldn’t think to add caramel to the cake. However, that extra flavour makes all of the difference! Take your boring chocolate cake to an explosion of flavour with a drizzle of caramel and a hidden caramel layer inside.
- Raspberry Pink Velvet Cake 🌸
This cake goes really well with a pink cream cheese frosting. If you are like me and prefer a sweeter cake, a normal buttercream frosting will work as well. This cake is better than your average red velvet because it is PINK and filled with raspberry flavouring.
- Fruit Loops Cake 🌈
Some of us love cereal okay?! This cake is regular vanilla decorated with fruit loops and fruit loop colouring on the inside. Fruit loops can also be replaced with any cereal that you would like! I would recommend a chocolate coco-pops cake as well.
- Toffee Crunch Cake 🍯
Have you ever had the caramel slice at IKEA? It is incredible. This cake features nuts, rice bubbles, caramel, toffee and chocolate flavouring. Decorating it with toffee chocolates and nuts is the best way to go!
- Apple-Cinnamon Cake 🍎
If you don’t like super sweet cakes this might be the one for you! It could easily be paired with cream cheese frosting or a salted caramel butter cream. Decorate with nuts, apple slices and cinnamon sugar.
- Rum and Raisin Mud Cake 🍻
Another option for the savoury lovers would be the rum and raisin mud cake! This is a mixture of chocolate and rum and raisin flavours. It is perfect for colder weather and tastes delicious!
- Strawberry Mousse Cake 🍓
Some people don’t like cheesecake options and that is okay. However, this might be an awesome substitute for you! A strawberry mousse cake has a similar texture to a cheesecake but does not have any cheese flavours. To top it off it is bright PINK!
- Coffee, Hazelnut and Chocolate Cake ☕️
Lastly, this three-layer swirl cake will have your taste buds drooling with excitement! Chocolate icing is the best option for this cake. It should also be decorated with hazelnuts, coffee beans and chocolate blocks. It is a perfect mix for the coffee lover!
